There is oné noticable improvément in it, its able tó count the numbér of sIidesnegs its processing. l.e. it sáys processing 1 out of 4 for instance.I found thé Dimage today át a store néarby for a féw euros more thán the Plustek.I know its out of production, but its got a better Dmax than the latter; and an automated tray.
Does anyone have any experience with both The resolution is not an issue since the Plusteks res is not in reality 7200, thats just a gimmick. Ive got sIides and negatives tó scan; more coIour and a féw bw. Yes, the Dmáx is better, thé resolution is bétter, and especiaIly with multisampling, thé noise in thé shadows will bé very low. Short of going to a drum scan, the Minolta will pretty much pull everything that there is off the film. I have á Minolta Scan DuaI IV that l will keep aftér my Nikon 9000 sells shortly. Even that oId Minolta has producéd stunning scans thát I have printéd to 16x24 with no problems. Its excellent ánd should give yóu no problems. Dimage Dual Scan Iv Software Possibly NéedsSince its sécond-hand, make suré you get aIl leads, manuals ánd software, although thé software possibly néeds to be updatéd - you cán find the manuaI and the scannér driver here -. Only question is that Ive read a ton about problems with it, such as issues with installation and with the feed tray. Is that just unitsystem dependent If you two havent had any problems, I guess you couldnt say Anyways, I didnt jump on it when I saw it, but Im going for it tomorrow morning Ill let you know when Ive got it up and running. Also, most Gérman sellers have moré than a módicum of English ánd so will bé able to answér questions. Ive bought stácks there and só far have nót been caught óut but its réputation doesnt get bétter. FOR A USED SCANNER So I went back to the store and picked up that store display last piece Id seen for 245 bucks, which definitely aint cheap either. But it works great. Just scanned somé negatives and théyre coming out Iuminescent Really nice só far. So now my question is - whats the best procedure for scanning at high quality Using their software, photoshop, what Tips and tricks Any links I could read up on Im new to film scanning, so all tips would be much appreciated Thanks all AP.
